Science and Stuff

My research

As an entomologist, my research interests center around the discovery, evolution, biogeography, and conservation of insect diversity, especially in Central and South America.  I am motivated by an underlying desire to protect our Earth's precious biological resources, and am especially concerned with the plight of the Tropical Andes, a biodiversity hotspot.  To draw awareness of the importance of protecting this unique region, it is vital to study and document the incredible biological diversity residing here.  For my part, I have discovered and described many species of caddisflies new to science.
